юр. экономическая зона (согласно Конвенции ООН по морскому праву 1982 г.: прилегающий к территориальным водам морской район шириной до 200 морских миль, отсчитываемых от тех же исходных линий, что и территориальные воды, и подпадающий под правовой режим, установленный конвенцией; между государствами с противолежащими или смежными побережьями экономическая зона разграничивается путем соглашения в соответствии с международным правом; прибрежное государство наделяется в своей экономической зоне суверенными правами в целях разведки, разработки и сохранения природных ресурсов, как живых, так и неживых, находящихся на дне, в его недрах и в покрывающих водах, а также управления ими, и в отношении других видов деятельности по экономической разведке и разработке экономической зоны, таких, как производство энергии путем использования воды, течений и ветра; кроме того, оно обладает юрисдикцией в отношении создания и использования искусственных островов, установок и сооружений, осуществления морских научных исследований, а также защиты и сохранения морской среды в экономической зоне; в экономической зоне все государства, в том числе государства, не имеющие выхода к морю, пользуются общепризнанными свободами открытого моря; в отличие от территориальных вод, экономическая зона не входит в состав территории прибрежного государства; суверенные права и юрисдикция этого государства носят здесь ограниченный, узкоцелевой характер; так, государство должно допускать другие страны к промыслу в своей экономической зоне той части научно допустимого улова живых ресурсов, которую не вылавливает само; в осуществление своих суверенных прав в экономической зоне прибрежное государство имеет право применять меры контроля и обеспечения выполнения своих законов, которые соответствуют конвенции)See:Exclusive Economic Zone, United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, territorial sea, United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, international law, jurisdiction 2), high seas, territory, sovereignty, special zone, security zone, contiguous zone, World Ocean* * * -
